World Social Initiative Forum: Leadership in Transformation

We and Beyond: From Competition to Collaboration

Each of us stands in the midst of massive crises: climate change, wildfires, drought, massive social disparities and injustice, disappearing topsoil and biodiversity - a pandemic with no end in sight. At the root of all of these external manifestations of crisis is a deep separation in human relationships to Earth, each other, and ourselves. Drawing on diverse streams of wisdom, we will explore what it might look like to shift how we relate - from separation to connection, from competition to collaboration.

"If we can grow food in a way that actually nurtures the Earth rather than depletes the Earth, so many of our problems can be solved" - Thea Maria Carlson

Change Makers Podcast

Joining Michael Hayman is Thea Maria Carlson, the California-based environmental activist and self-described Earth Steward who's on a mission to use biodynamic farming to regenerate the planet. In her work, Thea looks for solutions that will not only combat and reverse climate change, but also foster a better and more sustainable way of living for generations to come. This is a story about a focus on the future, and addressing humanity's past impact as a trustee of the charity Dirt, the foundation for the regeneration of Earth. Thea believes that it is the role of everyone to make their voice heard in the push for change, and for business to pay reparations to the planet and address past harms.
